So yesterday, I was at Epcot and rode a ride called Soarin’. It was incredible. It’s a motion ride that takes you flying over different parts of California, and there’s a light breeze going through the room as you fly. It’s obviously not real, but the views are beautiful, and it’s quite freeing.
Next to me was a father with his very young son. His son and I had really similar looks of awe on our faces. Half way through the ride, the father said, “Last time we came here you were so scared. But this time you are such a brave boy.”
Hearing this made me strangely emotional. His words really resounded with me. In some weird way, they are about me and my second attempt at life and happiness.
I feel different. I feel brave.
I am ready.
